Welcome to Plair's Place! My name is Melinda Plair and I have been teaching English at MCHS for the past 14 years. I received my teaching certificate for English and Public Speaking from Wayne State University, and later received my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. During the 14 years that I have been teaching, I have been committed to bettering myself as a teacher through a multitude of classes, workshops, and professional development experiences. I have had the privilege of teaching all grade levels of English, including Advanced Placement and our Reading Intervention courses. My overall goal has always been to make learning as meaningful as possible for each student.
Outside of school, my family keeps me rather busy. I have 5 children: 4 teenage daughters and a 9 y ear old son. At home I like to spend time with my family, have dinner together whenever possible, and read whatever I get my hands on! One of our favorite family activities just so happens to be cheering on the MCHS Battling Bathers! (I must admit that boys basketball is the favorite, but I do try to spread my attention around a little.)
